Asphalt Moths:
When they come
They transmit chemicals that vaporize the Orgone all around them.
They cover the city in a dense fog.
Looming and haunting, smothering, and as thick as fluff.
Right down to the street level.
Zero visibility moving in any direction.
Lost in concrete, blurred lights and echos of machinery.
The fluttery sound of wings.
Heavy sonic fluttering like slabs of concrete being forced to move as rolling waves.
Every movement shifted through the fog and washed across those seeking direction and bearings.
Skin flapped loosely across the bone.
Those smaller and wearer shapes pushed aside.
Making way for the next crescendo of heavy decibel fluttering.
Dust and particles excavated new spaces deep in lung tissue.
As the Asphalt Moths move closer
Turning concrete, glass and steel into a whirlwind of deconstructionism.
They leech tar from gravel and leave desolation dunes rippling in their wake.
Ripping up infrastructure, sewer systems, fiber optic cables, and mass transit lines.
Asphalt Moths fill the fog covered summer night sky.
Swirl upwards to collapse high rise buildings and cooling towers.
Then, sinking back into the streets like giant sea creatures
Into the poisonous seas.
They spray hot asphalt on those unlucky enough to find no shelter from the swarm.
Sealing flesh and bone inside asphalt and debris like mummies in an urban tomb.
Their wings carry pandemonium and disease.
The Asphalt Moths move camouflaged through city streets and across expressways off into the night.
