Original released as a very limited edition metal box set of 4 copies with 15 cassettes. Each cassette was about 9 minutes a side and contained tracks from Nookleptia's Archive from 1993-1997. These recordings highlight some of our recordings from that time period in Denver. There is a range of sonic landscapes contained within this release. Industrial noise, ambient works, as well as experimental pieces of some composure. In the spirit of early Industrial forefathers like T.G., Lab Report, S.P.K. and several other influential experimental musicians of that era. Most of the tracks are improv or recordings from rehearsals and sessions. These were documented on stereo cassette, 4-track, and at times some questionable recording devices. These have been subject to tape degradation and some may be considered "LO-Fi". We have tried our best to clean up any tape decomposition, line hum and tape hiss from these recordings that are now approaching 23+ years old. Some tracks have been reworked only so they could achieve a better sonic quality. If not to finish up the idea of thought of that particular recording. The tracks on this release are NOT in any kind of chronology or order. Also, a lot of the song titles have changed from working titles and clips of thoughts jotted down on insert cards. To more cohesive titles that represent the work as they are today. Again, we reach out to our industrial forefather PTV and invoke the idea "Thee Process Is Thee Product". These recordings are more about the documentation of a time period in the musical history of Nookleptia rather than trying to provide a source of entertainment. The title "Dead Empty Mass" was created when an interpretation of a line from William S. Burroughs was misheard.

Equipment: Korg M-1, Roland Juno-1, Circuit Bent Concertmate 650 sampler, homemade turntable, electric guitar, various microphones and contact mics, SW radio, Water bottle, paint cans, radio samples, various pieces of metal, drills and tools, toy piano, Homemade Nooklep-cello, and various voices, and an array of effect pedals and processors. All sounds are intentional and vary in volume. This was done to make the listener interact and be forced to confront the uncomfortable sounds in the every day world.
